Description |
The purpose of this study is
to prepare design guidelines for those aspects of the
Seaton development related to building massing and urban
form, buildings and their relationship to the street,
architectural control, the design of public spaces
including streets and boulevards, landscaping, streets
and connectivity, and the creation of urban spaces. Key
areas requiring guidelines to be prepared include:
development adjacent to arterials and collector roads;
mixed use areas; and medium density areas. |

Draft urban design
guidelines have already been prepared for the Employment
Lands through the Highway 407 (Seaton) Economic
Development Study.
The sustainable
performance measures and benchmarks identified through
the Sustainable Development Program will in part be
implemented through the Urban Design Guidelines.
The Central Pickering
Development Plan contains neighbourhood development
principles and guidelines, and urban design and
sustainability principles. |
