Seaton Community
Name of Study Pickering Fiscal Impact Study
Brief Description The purpose of this Study is to examine the capital and on-going operating cost implications of the higher standards planned for this model sustainable community, and demonstrate the development of Seaton will not pose a financial hardship on the City, and is financially sustainable.

The Study will provide the information needed to ensure appropriate measures and financial agreements, including front-ending and cost-sharing agreements and development charges are in place prior to the development of Seaton.

Consultants The IBI Group
Status Study had commenced in 2005, but was not actively worked on during 2006 & 2007; study reactivated in 2008; terms of reference being revised to reflect discussions during 2008.
Other Comments

 

City has retained Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. to assist the City and peer review work.

This Study is a requirement of the Central Pickering Development Plan.

The study is being undertaken by the Seaton developers' group -- the North Pickering Community Management Inc.
