Description |
The Central Pickering
Development Plan (CPDP) establishes land use,
transportation and design policies for Central Pickering
to achieve the vision of a sustainable urban community
in Seaton integrated with a thriving agricultural
community in the Duffins Rouge Agricultural Preserve and
an extensive Natural Heritage System.
For Seaton, the Plan
envisions employment lands and compact urban
neighbourhoods that provide a range of residential,
mixed use and employment uses. The Plan provides for a
population of up to 70,000 persons and 35,000 jobs.

Planning Alliance Inc. as lead consultant, with input
from numerous sub-consultants. |

Status |
The Plan was approved, and came into effect on May 3,
2006.
Currently, the Plan is being implemented through a
series of more detailed studies and environmental
assessments. |

The Plan was prepared by the Ministry of Municipal
Affairs and Housing, under the authority of the Ontario
Planning and Development Act, 1994. |
