Now it’s even easier to keep Pickering Parks clean. Residents can use biodegradable bags provided by the City when stooping & scooping in the pet-friendly areas listed below. Dog waste is removed on a regular basis and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.
 
Dog Waste Diversion StationPickering’s Dog Waste Diversion Project is available at the following 13 locations:

Alex Robertson Park
Brockridge Park
Bronte Square (pedestrian bridge)
Bruce Hanscombe Memorial Park
Diana Princess of Wales Park
Dunmoore Park
Esplanade Park
Forestbrook Park
Major Oaks Park
Millennium Square
J. McPherson Park

Instead of going to a landfill, the dog waste is processed and disposed of at one of the Region of Durham’s Water Pollution Control Plants.
