Use this water calculator to see your water consumption and come up with a plan to reduce your water usage.

1. Using your computer keyboard, for the first three items enter your daily usage of each item in hours and/or min.

2. Checkmark whether you have a low flow or reg. flow toilet and on average the number of flushes per day.

3. Enter the number of dripping taps in your house, if zero leave blank.

4. In the second section enter the number of times you do each item in a week.

5. In the last section enter the number of times you do each item in a month.

6. In the last section, enter your hours and/or minutes used on a weekly basis.

7. Press CALCULATE to see your monthly and yearly litres of water used and the amount of money spent.

8. Press the CLEAR button to start over.

9. Experiment with the calculator and see what changes you can make to reduce your water usage.

Information

About 75% of indoor home water use occurs in bathrooms.  Toilets account for 45% and showers 30%.

Front load washing machines generally use up to 40% less water and 70% less energy then top loading washing machines.

Using a dishwasher can be more efficient than washing dishes by hand, assuming that you run full dishwasher loads.
