Staff working toward the goal of a Sustainable Pickering

The Corporate Green Committee was formed in June 2004.  This Committee is comprised of City of Pickering staff working together to share information and best practices respecting environmentally friendly actions and activities the Corporation currently implements as well as to identify future initiatives.

The Committee is mandated to establish and encourage new Corporate "Green" projects on an annual basis as well as to inventory, monitor and promote existing "Green" initiatives to facilitate their success.

City staff representing a variety of Departments and Divisions make up the Corporate Green Committee membership. All Committee members speak as representatives of their respective areas, with decisions being made through consensus.
