Garden Competition

Here's what you need to know…

  • You must have a City of Pickering address to enter
  • There is no fee for entering or participating
  • All gardens must be visible to the public from the sidewalk, street or open space
  • Only front gardens will be judged in the residential categories
  • Check only one category per registration form
  • Competitors will be judged and awarded a range of 1 to 5 blooms, 5 is the best
  • The name printed on the registration form will be the name printed on the certificate
  • When entering someone other than you, the person or organization must give permission
  • Must provide complete mailing address with postal code and who to contact if the property is not yours
  • Incomplete forms will not be accepted
  • Communities in Bloom sign will be posted on the property of all entrants
  • The City of Pickering reserves the right to use participants' names and photos of gardens for future promotions such as website, print publications etc.
  • Entries received after July 4 will not be accepted
  • Local Pickering Blooms judging will take place during the 1st two weeks of July
  • Schools will be judged in June before the end of the school year
  • No advance notice will be given of judges' arrival
  • Backyard gardens will not be judged

Nominate yourself or your neighbour for our upcoming Garden Competition.  Volunteers and experts will evaluate registered properties prior to the Communities in Bloom judges arrival this summer.
